2D-his parents got divorced a year after 2d joined gorillaz, their dad went off and worked on the fare untill he passed around demon days, his mother lived untill cracker island, 2d is an only child but they were always jelous of their friends who had siblings, once they met murdoc they regretted that jelousy, he cherishes noodle, his lil sis❤️

Noodle-all the other kids in the soldier experiment weren't related to her, but in the ten years of knowing them they felt like siblings, because of her amnesia and the trauma from the situation she dosent remember much, I would love to say that she sees the other three as father figures but I don't think any of them are fatherly but just carers. The closest to a father she could get was russel, but I think she would still see him as a very involved uncle, 2d as a brother and murdoc wasn't much help

Murdoc-all his close family are dead, he might have a few half-siblings like Hanibal, who he lived with as a kid. But was estranged from because if his father pushing him away and because Hanibal was like, waayyyyy older then him, murdoc isn't botherd with family unless it's gorillaz and mostly it's as a plee to get the other to do something for him "but we're like a family!!"

Russel-WHOOOOO boy I have spent the most thinking about his lore and MAKING UP MY OWN, because for some reason they gave him the most detailed backstory just to never talk about it. He has two older sisters 'June' and 'mya' they all grew up in the upper middle-class, mya is 25 years older then russel and June in 7 years older then him, June and russel talk sometimes but sorta lost touch after russel was sent to the UK, russels parents are religious but not much so, they never saw his relationship with Del and his friends as a good thing, especially after the shooting. They didn't like Dels influence, his reckless attitude and his confidence, he pushed russel to do what he wanted, helping russel shave his hair (against his mothers wishes) he went no-contact after he went to the UK, his father died around phase 3 and his mother in phase 5, mya is no contact from their parents so russel hasn't been able to get ahold of her, I don't really see him searching to find her, idk he just dosent reach out

Anyway, imagine phase 1 gorillaz, dealing with murdoc, deamons, ghosts, kong AND making music, and russel just isn't waking up, God that would be terrifying, he's not dead but he's just stressed himself enough to sleep for a week or two
