Graham Hancock did an amazing Ted talk (which was unjustly banned for a time) by this name, “War on Consciousness”. He described how religions from around the world are based on mankind’s discovery and contact with the divine through the use of psychedelics. For example, Christianity was actually born out of the cult of Isis(Egyptian Goddess) which used Amanita mushrooms for communication with God or “Holy Communion”. Isis is the original madonna, holding her divine son Horus. The food that gave Eve and Adam knowledge in the garden of Eden was actually the magic mushroom. The oldest Christian churches are adorned with murals depicting this very scene. Moses’ burning bush was the Acacia tree, yet another psychedelic and it is referred to many times in the Old Testament. Humans have lived for around 200,000 years anatomically exactly the same as we are now, yet most uninspired. We’ve found the same stone spear tips and no evidence for religious or spiritual practice. Then there is a quantum leap. At the same time we find creative, technological and spiritual revolution. There is in the same spot references in cave art to psychedelic plants and we find ritualistic burial practices whereby the dead are buried with precious items, hence they began believing in something greater than the observable world. Today we live in a society here in the west where we have been cut off from the ability to truly commune with the divine. We have religion but the aspects that for so long helped us truly reach enlightenment has been all but lost. When people have a near death experience, the chemical Dimethyltryptamine allows they’re consciousness to transcend and connect between the spirit world and the physical plane and they are never the same after this “religious” experience. Our brain contains the transceivers that are capable of contacting the divine. There must be a God if our anatomy contains an organ to sense her.
