Runaway Lover - Skule Toyama

I came up with the name before the words had even come. You're my runaway lover, in and out of my life so consistently now. I try to explain to people, how I feel, But the words leave my mouth dry and my heart empty. I can't explain to them why I think of you when the lights go down and musicians take the stage. Poets with their hands and voices. I can't explain to them how my shoulders curl into the spaces between your arms and your lips tilt down to meet mine. I can't explain, but I don't need to. Because with you, what's now is now and later or before shall be left unaddressed. Without you I am lost, trying to find love in the pauses between chords. One day i’ll find my own, but in the mean time I'll look for you. In the darkness and in the light. In the moment and in the could-have-been. You are my runaway lover, my partner in crime. A folk singing, wandering heart and, for now at least, you are mine.
