I interned for a Brooklyn-based startup Tea company all summer called Runa. Runa isn't just your average cup o' tea. Runa Tea supports sustainable livelihoods in the Ecuadorian Amazon by bringing Guayusa tea to the US Market. Guayusa is a tree that grows around the Amazon that indigenous people have brewed for thousands of years. Guayusa is super strong; before battles Amazonian warriors used to drink tons of it to keep them focus and "Runa," which means, to be fully alive.  Weird right? The family behind Runa has created this business that respects cultural traditions, supports small farmers, and helps the Amazon rainforest thrive. We've actually increased the farming families' income by $25,000+ in the past couple years already. I had never been more motivated to work a 9-5 job in my life; Unlimited Caffeine and great people doing great things!
