Why This Character?: I love Elena but it’s not often that I play here in all honesty but this roleplay and her place in it is something that really stood out to me and I’m really keen on exploring her in the setting of this roleplay.

Ships/Anti-ships: Eh, ships don’t really matter to me at all. I don’t really have anything I ship majorly but that doesn’t mean I’m going to write anything off, I go with chemistry more than plotting etc, so it’s more if something happens then it happens, if it doesn’t then it doesn’t kind of thing :)

Headcanons: - Elena’s mother was her biggest inspiration and her closest ally other than her best friends. It was her mother who got her into writing and even sketching at one stage in her life. Elena feels like she has lost a massive part of herself and her creativity with the loss of her mother and isn’t sure what she can do to bring her old self back. - Other than being a voracious reader, music is another huge escape for her in her life. A fan of words, Elena loves how she can use lyrics to relate to her life or use the beat of a good song to escape for a little while. - Elena’s favourite season is autumn. She loves the leaves and the colours, watching the change from sunshine to dreary rainy days. She finds that it better relates to herself and her mood, as gloomy as that may make her seem. One of her favourite things is curling up with a book and a cup of hot chocolate listening to the rain come down.

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: Elena is fairly for it, but she has a fair bit of mistrust and anxiety about this world she’d been thrust into and some of those people who she fears have their own agendas… especially after what happened to Caroline. Though her other best friend is also Witch and she has to think in these new terms now. Her friends’ safety is the most important thing for her.

Slice of Life: She likes to start her days an hour or two ahead of whatever she has to do, be it classes or work, so that she can have a little bit of 'me time’ and just get ready for the day ahead.

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Elena’s biggest fear is losing those that she loves. Loss and grief, she doesn’t tend to always do so well with them though she knows no one really does. She almost completely lost herself to it all after her mother and father died, her world was completely shaken and, though she always knew people weren’t immortal, actually having loss happen to you is a different thing to knowing. After that, she’s absolutely terrified of something like that happening ever again. Elena worries furiously and she cares about people so much, sometimes to a fault. She knows that if it ever came down to it, she’d choose their lives over her own.

DESIRED CHARACTER:

Desired Character: Kira Yukimura

Why This Character?:  I feel Kira is quite different from the character I already have here. Her personality is sweet and caring but I feel she can quite often come off as awkward and clumsy. She has such a bubbly persona and although it might be easy to mistake her rambling and awkwardness as someone who is somewhat ditsy, Kira is intelligent. She just finds it a little difficult to find people she can be open with, but once that happens then they will see many other facets of her lovely personality. She might show her worry and look as though she fears things, which to a certain extent is true but Kira is courageous and you wouldn’t meet a more loyal friend.

I don't  often pick characters like this, so I see it as a great challenge to dig deep and show some traits that might apply to myself too because more often than not, I go for fierce, badass and moody characters that I can hide my true self behind. haha

Ships/Anti-ships: None at all because it’s all about development through writing for me. I don’t like to prejudge a relationship. I always find that when two people write together, you get a better understanding of your character with theirs and then you will know whether your character will warm to them or dislike them.

Headcanons:

Kira loves books but there is something that she also loves which is more like a guilty pleasure and that’s binge watching box sets.  At the extreme, she has been known to go through the night watching one episode after another, but it’s usually the daytime when she gets the chance. She doesn’t like watching the shows as they are aired on the TV because she gets far too invested in the characters and storylines, so it drives her crazy having to wait until the following week.

Her favourite colour is red. This can be anything from the paintwork of a car–to the best flaired, off the shoulder dress that hangs in her wardrobe. To be perfectly fair, Kira is a fan of most colours, but feels like red perfectly accentuates her skin tone and dark locks.

She loves cooking. Now that’s not to say she hasn’t had a few baking disasters in her time because she’s had plenty, but that’s how you learn, from your mistakes, right? So when things go wrong, there are a few moments of frustration before Kira  returns to her usual ‘glass half-full kinda gal’ and smiles and tries again.  Rather than a take out, she would much prefer to prepare something or put a homemade lasagne in the oven. She’s not all that fond of cooked food from a place that she can’t see what ingredients go into the meal. Having said that, she does like to visit a good restaurant so some might say it’s a little hypocritical. So maybe it’s just the whole idea of take-outs and junk food she steers clear of.

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty

Kira is all for the peace treaty. She can stand on her own two feet and is not afraid of fighting if she has to, but she doesn’t like violence and doesn’t agree with it unless it’s deemed absolutely necessary. She feels that with the peace treaty in place, it gives everyone a chance of a better future, but she is also aware that things are subject to chance with such 'challenging’ characters around.

Slice of Life:  With her being a student at NOU, weekdays are taken up by being there, but let’s go with the weekend or the occasional free study day. She always makes time to practice with her sword and not neglect the abilities she has. This way it helps her stay in control and also lets her be in charge of her fox spirit. She would usually do all this in a morning so that she was free for the rest of the day. If she’d agreed to meet any friends she would go out and spend time with them definitely hanging out at her favourite coffee place. Sometimes at a weekend she might go to the cinema, indulging in her love of movies. If there is nothing going on in an evening, Kira would either study or get lost in a good book. (but lets not forget about those box set binges though eh?)

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?:Even though Kira is in control of her fox spirit she knows full well from experience, how dangerous it can be if she does lose control, so it is always a fear that resides at the back of her mind. A strong fear she has though is somehow screwing up and hurting the people she loves or even worse, losing them. She is clever and does like to think things through, but there are always going to be situations where you have to think fast and everyone is capable of screwing up then–this is a big fear of hers and she hopes she never has to find out she’s the one who does it.

Desired Character: Lydia Martin

Why This Character?: Lydia is a character I have roleplayed off and on since TW season one. I just can’t shake her. She is such a fierce, dynamic character. Her canon evolution is so drastic while remaining realistic and I love that. She is also a great example of how a female character can be a total badass and still remain soft, classically feminine, and unapologetically own the hell out of her sexuality. I could go on and on about how much the character means to me, but I’ll cut myself off here, haha.

Headcanons: Lydia loved helping her father bake desserts when she was little. They’d make everything from lemon creme cake to baked Alaska. After her parents divorce, she’d find solace in the kitchen anytime she found herself missing him. Over the years, the activity evolved from a way to comfort herself over her father’s absence into a way to deal with most of her problems. When she feels out of control, she’ll turn to baking. There’s something so reassuring in the measured and sure chemistry involved. She loves to read. Her grandmother imparted a love of fairytales and mythology in her at a young age. Due to her dedicated and voracious love for these stories, she taught herself classic and archaic Latin, German, and French so that she could read her favorites in their original forms. There was a point in her life where one of her biggest fears was having her love for recreational reading being exposed to her peers. Being a bookworm was in complete and utter opposition to the image she tried so hard to cultivate, but these days she has no problem whipping a book out of her purse in front of any company. Speaking of things she keeps in her purse at all times, Lydia never goes anywhere without hard candy. Throat fatigue is a real concern for her and she never knows when her powers will leave her raw. Typically she carries either cinnamon or honey lemon candies.

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: Lydia feels neutral if not positive toward the treaty. She is in favor of peace; however, she doesn’t truly feel like she has a right to an opinion. Being something mostly human but partly supernatural means she has a large stake in both sides of the coin remaining in balance and symbiotically existing; however, it also creates a sort of impostor syndrome feeling where she feels like she doesn’t belong in any category and therefore has no voice in the fight.

Slice of Life: Lydia’s typical schedule includes waking up in her campus dorm. She likes taking morning showers and makes sure she has copious amounts of time to primp before she needs to be anywhere. She’s not one to be rushed. Lydia never misses breakfast if she can help it. If she doesn’t get her hands on a pastry and a coffee before her first class, her whole day is thrown off. In between classes, she likes to meet up with friends. She’s a sociable person and hates to be away from those she’s close to for too long. If she can’t manage to cross paths with anyone on campus, she clocks some solid study time in the campus library. She prefers to get as much of her school work done during the day so that her afternoons can be spent having fun. She’ll grab lunch with whoever is available and head back for her last couple of classes. Lydia will take advantage of yoga classes when they’re offered at the campus gym, otherwise her evenings are spent in the company of her friends or on the prowl for some eye-candy. Usually all of the above.

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Her greatest fear is feeling the coming death of a loved one and knowing there’s nothing she can do to prevent it. It’s inevitable. She tries to do her very best not to fixate on it; to simply live her life instead of being in constant terror of the unpreventable. Still, it permeates her thoughts despite her best efforts at distraction. Lydia has always had an unhealthy need for control, tailored by her inherited perfectionism. She’s all too self aware of this flaw and is trying to overcome it, but it contributes to the terror of this inescapable scenario. Add to that how helpless she feels as a human who is always getting pulled into the supernatural world and its problems and it’s really no wonder she resents her banshee curse more often than not.

DESIRED CHARACTER:

Desired Character: Kol Mikaelson

Why This Character?:  I’ve always loved a character with a more chaotic, villainous inclination and Kol is that and then some! I don’t know VD or TO quite as well as I do TW but from what I’ve seen of the character he’s a fun balance between violent, psychotic impulses, gentlemanly banter and a need for validation from his family. I’d love to flip between these characteristics of his personality and delve into each to bring out his complex attributes and perhaps have some chaotic fun.

Ships/Anti-ships: In all cases I’m a fan of chemistry over a pre-built ship. I’m open to different kinds of relationships (romantic, platonic, etc.) but I’d prefer they all be built up or backstories discussed between muns. Essentially so long as everyone’s happy and the muse goes with it then why not!

Headcanons:

1)     Kol has a love of music, but him enjoyment of culture is much greater than just that. He plays several instruments and has a (if he does say so himself) fabulous singing voice. He’s very happy to play or sing for crowds, he’d often done so before he fed or to simply bask in the whole-hearted attention of an audience… If his family didn’t want him, he’d have all the adoration he wanted from others instead.

2)     His travels around the world made him an expert on magic yes, but they also gave him an element of the superstition. It’s always wise to believe there could be something out there, especially when you’re a vampire, and while this hasn’t stopped him from indulging his chaotic ways it manifested in a number of odd habits. He never stepped on cracks in the street and he was always sure to greet a magpie on sight.

3)     Kol is very much the youngest son of the family and despite his bluster, snark and general combative attitude, deep down he’s afraid of his brothers. He’s been daggered in the past and frankly he’s only waiting for it to happen again. He needs to stay close so he can at least try and see the blow coming. With this mentality he finds it very difficult to even think about opening up to Klaus or Elijah.

                Family: Kol is the black sheep by his own admission despite his family not thinking it. I’d love a chance to plot with some of the Mikaelson’s and vampires like Marcel to explore him fighting against the place offered since he won’t believe it’s there. Looking at self-sabotage elements and general familial angst haha.

                 Self: As has been the patter for over a millennium, Kol is first and foremost out for himself and instability of New Orleans could be just the catalyst for him to further his own goals. His intelligence and scheming nature could be shown in plots here, trying to use others around him to increase his power and hold over some parts of the city, in particular areas with magic and witches, his long-lost love.

                 Chaos: Where’s the fun in life without a little senseless violence? The problem is, bloodshed’s always a little more fun when you’re not the only one up to your (rather muscular) thighs in gore. So, Kol’s on the lookout for a playmate, one who’s got a stomach strong enough to manage his games and already he has a few ideas in mind.

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: Peace is boring. It’s not moving forwards, it’s not moving backwards, it’s a damn full stop. How is anyone supposed to have fun an excel when others can’t be removed from their positions? Although, there was one challenge to be found that Kol was looking forward to sinking his teeth into here: a treaty was a contract and a contract always had loopholes. Finding those was something of a speciality of his and while Kol has no intentions of pushing his dear family to box him up again for another century, towing the line and causing problems for Marcel sounds like a delicious way to spend his time.

Slice of Life: Kol has no set pattern, not really, often his day depends on what mischief he got up to the night before. If he does wake up in his own bed he enjoys taking a luxurious bath, bubbles, music playing, a glass of blood, the works really. Then he spends time making sure he’ll look perfect once he leaves. After all, a gentleman must take pride in their appearance (especially when they’re as aesthetically gifted as him). And then, well if he’s no major schemes to be employing he might go and bother his siblings till early afternoon before heading off to a pub. It was often fun watching the little humans rush about so desperate to enjoy what little free time they had. If one took his fancy he might take them, have a little snack they’ll easily be made to forget about and if they want to give him more? Well, why should he turn the frantic little thing down? Usually once he’s well-sated in every regard he’ll meander back to his room, put some music on and here is where he lets himself think. Playing smart is to his strength and before bed are when his best ideas come to the fore. Thoughts on spells, ways to improve his power, almost anything really. He keeps a small book he jots the most important musings down in and always burns it once his plans or spellwork has been enacted or passed on. Then it’s off to sleep again until the delights of the next day come with the rising sun.

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Kol has always feared complete rejection from his family. He knows they barely tolerate him, to them he’s little more than a nuisance, but better than being thrust out into the world forever cut off from them. They’re the only constant he’s known for over a thousand years; fucked up and cruel as they’ve been to him (and him to them) loosing that would leave him unmoored. Pleasure and mischief could be precious little with nothing there to ground it. His family are his anchor, his context for the world… Pathetic but true. The only thing more frightening than losing one of them would be losing… himself. Being alone was terrifying but death? Death was worse… Death was just worse.

DESIRED CHARACTER:

Desired Character: Braeden Aldaine

Why This Character?: As a lover of Strong Women, Braeden just does it for me. She is just a top tier Badass, unapologetic, take no shit, kind of girl. While she has no problem getting her hands dirty for the right price, she hasn’t abandoned all sense of morality either. Friendships aren’t something she has much experience in, but once a girl like Braeden considers you one of hers there is nothing that she won’t do for you, free of charge. If you’re not in her limited, near non existent friend group and you need her help, well… she’s excellent at what she does, and her rates reflect that. I love Braeden because she’s guarded to the point of obscurity, but so subtly soft that you’d miss it if you didn’t know where to look. 11/10. High quality character right there, and I’d love the chance to bring her to life.

Headcanons:

Braeden’s bike is her baby. Keeping it shiny and purring like a kitten would be her life’s passion if taking dangerous jobs for cash wasn’t already at the top of the list. Stradling it, revving the engine, releasing the break bar and speeding toward that unreachable horizon, there isn’t a damn thing in the whole wide world more freeing than that. Thanks to her work, she and her bike have ridden cross country several times over, coast to coast, and over country limits. She may not have super speed, but a Suzuki GSX-R600 comes pretty damn close.

She says that she has too many scars to count, but that’s a lie. Braeden has 37 visible scars, not counting the obvious ones on her neck. 37 stories of close calls and near misses, of stupid mistakes and lucky shots, and a hundred more that aren’t as obvious as the rest. She could fill a book with stories of all the jobs she’s taken, and how some of them she nearly didn’t walk away from. If asked she’d tell you about the time she played five finger fillet with a witch in Quebec, or how a werewolf ate her favorite boot (almost taking her foot with it) during a job in Vermont, the bullet hole in her shoulder was from that one time she got between hunters and the vampire they were hunting. Oh, the scar on her abdomen? That was just an appendectomy. The one near her ribs, however, was a bar fight in Sonora, Mexico. Most people don’t ask, though, and she has a pretty strict “don’t ask don’t tell” policy when it comes to personal shit.

Becoming a US Marshal was her dad’s dream, not hers. The Aldaine family had as long a history in the military and law enforcement as they did in hunting. Growing up, she’d been groomed for both, pushed toward a career that protected humans on a national scale, rather than a local one. Into her adolescence she started to deviate from the path, only for the accident that took her family to set her back on course. Braeden still doesn’t have the self-righteous elitism common among hunters, but she was too afraid to further disappoint her parents’ memory by abandoning every value they’d instilled into her. Her extracurriculars wouldn’t make her parents proud, but her badge would, and that had to be good enough.

It’s been a long, long time since she’s shed a tear for anyone, especially herself. Some mostly ignored part of her is a little nervous that she’s broken. Maybe it’s because she’s always been on the move, nonstop, taking job after job, but hers is a mostly solitary life. Her family is… well… and, as for friends… that’d require her to stay in one place long enough to form attachments to people. “It’s for the best,” she tells herself when the isolation hits her hard. You don’t do the kind of work that she does without making some enemies along the way. The less people she cares about, the safer everyone is. Better desensitized than a crying mess.

Why she keeps coming back to NOLA is a mystery. Well, not really. It’s home. It’s where she was born and where she grew up. But some days the bad memories outweigh the good. There are days that she climbs on her bike and swears to herself that this is the last time. Never again is she going to ride into town limits. And each time something draws her back. Another job, another payout, another piece of her past she can’t seem to let go of. Some days Braeden doesn’t want NOLA to be home, but it is, and she can’t stay away for long. Not so long as there’s that *thing* calling her back, those very few people that keep her human.

CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE:

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: Braeden is in favor of the idea of The Peace Treaty. Does she trust it? No. Only an idiot would. Her life motto might be “as long as I get paid…” but the next runner up is “hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.” Someone is going to break the Treaty, that much is inevitable. The only question is when, and what she’s prepared to do about it. As long as she gets paid, she’ll do whatever the job entails.

Slice of Life: Wake up, work out, train, sharpen/clean her weapons, check her email/messages, shooting range, get to work, stagger into bed, rinse, repeat. When not working either as a Marshal or on a job, Braeden follows a pretty strict routine of keeping her senses and reflexes sharp, her body fighting fit, and her weapons ready for use. Sometimes she fills the gaps between physical/combat/weapons training, and perusing job offers with visits into town or the Bayou. People watching is a great way to stay informed on NOLA’s ongoings, but even that’s secondary to keeping herself in fighting shape.

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Letting someone in, only to end up losing them. Braeden’s built these tall, impenetrable walls up around her. They’re safe and snug, and she never has to worry about anyone but herself. The thought of taking those walls down, of someone climbing them and reducing them to rubble, just for her to lose them… Braeden *wants* to have people to care about, and she’s terrified of what it’ll do to her if she ever does. The two people that she has, Alaric and Derek, are more than enough most days. And even the possibility of losing them sends her heart racing if she thinks about it too long.

Desired Character: Rebekah Mikaelson

Why This Character?: Bex has always been my favorite TVD/TO character. I relate to her more than any other character and I really enjoy playing her. I love that she knows who she is and doesn’t need a strong man to protect her (even though her brothers do). Even with everything she’s been through she’s never let any of it stop her from finding love. In fact, she takes what she’s been through and grows from it. Much like myself her family is the most important thing to her and even when she goes against her brothers she always ends up back on their side and defending them.

Headcanons: Headcanon #1: Rebekah’s dream is to have a normal life. Find love, have a family even if she can’t have her own biologically children. That being said Rebekah has quickly become quite the Suzy Homemaker though she does hide it from literally everyone. She’ll cook the meal and then let her brothers go on believing it was someone that she compelled to cook it for them. Not only that but the blonde original much prefers a clean house and it annoys her when her brothers make messes anywhere in their home and most times will take it upon herself to clean said mess. How dare they ruin her 200 year old carpet?

Headcanon 2: The blonde Original feels like her brothers see her as somewhat weaker than them being she’s the only female. She’s taken that feeling of inadequacy and used it to train herself to be even quicker and stronger. She spends a decent amount of time at gyms sparring against anyone who is willing to take her on. She loves a good fight, never being one to quit or back down and the adrenaline rush that comes with it is just a plus. Not to mention any pent up feelings can be released.

Headcanon 3: Rebekah is an early riser wanting to get most of her running and sparring in during the early mornings when she actually has the time to without worrying about her siblings or enemies. Not only that but Rebekah never eats junk food. She prefers to stick to a rather healthy menu for her meals. Not that she really needs to worry about her health being an Original vampire and all its just what she prefers.

How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: While Rebekah would prefer peace she doesn’t really care. She will side with whatever side her brothers do and whichever side will keep her family safest.

Slice of Life: A usual day for Rebekah starts pretty early. If she finds she has enough time she’ll spend about an hour sparring at the gym and if she doesn’t have the time she’ll go for a run before returning home and preparing herself for the rest of the day which, let’s be honest, takes the original a little bit of time, always wanting to look her best. From there she’ll have her breakfast and get on with her day which she almost always hopes will be normal for once. She’ll do a little shopping, checking in with her brothers mostly to make sure Niklaus wasn’t up to anything dastardly, and maybe even stop in for a visit with old friends. At the end of the day she would return home and cook dinner for her brothers before they returned from wherever they had been. Her night would end with a hot bath, a glass of wine, and a good record playing on her old record player.

What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Rebekah’s greatest fear is living in the shadow of her brother forever. She loves her brother to pieces but she wants her freedom and to live her life the way she wants it to be. This fear is her weakness and it can often be used as a way to cause her to sway sides and go against her brother no matter how much she loves and cares for him.
