is metroidvania considered a classically difficult genre? i only played the genre megaclassix super metroid (medium) and castlevania sotn (super easy)
well as i understand it the sort of “true” form of the genre is believed to be back in the NES days, where everything was artificially hard to add time b/c the cartridges couldnt hold that much. so a lot of modern stuff keep that sort of difficulty
