I’ve been spending serious time getting my pack dialed in. Everything Jett and I need to subsist for up to a week in the desert; my camel hump if you will. I’ve logged about 40 miles with it on my back seeing how things ride, adjusting straps, cutting weight where I can, etc. I’m getting really excited about the idea of some long multi day trips with my dog in the backcountry. I have it down to 42.6 pounds fully loaded. I will need to find Water about every other day because Jett drinks a lot. But I have the filtration to support being able to purify the nastiest puddles and creeks I might encounter.
6 freeze dried backpacking meals, 1 MRE. A Titanium pot and lid/frying pan. Titanium cup. 6 pouches of instant coffee. 6 days worth of kibble for Jett. Towel/smaugh. MSR Whisperlight Universal stove and fuel canisters. Titanium spork. Marine-issue Bivy Sack. HPG mountain serapee. Kelty Bestie Blanket. Klymit sleeping pad and pillow. Helikon Tex rain Pancho. Pancho poles. Trekking poles. Camelback bladder. 2 Nalgene silos. Katadyne tactical water filter. Mosquito netting. Streamlight headlamp. Beretta 9mm, spare mag and ammo. Benchmade knife. Various clothing layers. Collapsible bowl for Jett. Camenga compass. Bug spray. Nocs Monocular. My IFAK and boo-boo kit along with some OTC drugs. Titanium trowel and butt wipes. Poop bags for Jett… and me in a pinch. 9L of Water. 30w solar panels. Battery banks. Radio and hand mic. And a few other things I’m sure I’m forgetting.
This is not the best list to build off of. There are far better and lighter options out there. This was built entirely for durability. Apocalypse proof if you will.
