Amidst the eerily quiet Violet Ivy camp, existed the hum of the too-loud air conditioning, and the occasional sound of anguish which ripped uncaringly through the silence. It could easily be identified by the shrill tones, as a scream. The pained owner of this noise stood in the torn ruins of her own kingdom. Her king ripped so violently from her, her storm, her calm and calculated barrel boss, who had seemed to have miscalculated the cunning of their rivals. The RubyReds had ambushed them in the few hours she had been absent, demanded Sanchez for "questioning", which might as well have been labeled torture and kidnapping, and shot down those who had attempted to protect their leader. To say that the gang hadn't tried to fight back, would be a heresy. They had pushed their hardest, and although Sanchez had done all that he could, their numbers were nothing compared to the Rubies. Though they were young and inexperienced, there were so many more than the dwindling Ivies. They'd already lost so many to the cold and disease of the winter, and now she knelt beside her fallen friends, screaming for God to give them back, to turn back the clock, anything. She screamed for them, and for him.
