thinking about the pacific in relation to band of brothers…and i think it’s very emphasised between the two that for better or worse the men in the pacific feel like they’ve entered a new world or are adrift in a strange land,,,like these islands are mostly uninhabited up until okinawa and they don’t come face to face with civilians for quite a while,,,meanwhile in bofb, you have liebgott knowing german (as a german-american), you have webster knowing the history of eindhoven, you have them encountering civilians every step of the way, you have them encountering a german-american wehrmacht soldier. in bofb they have a connection to the fight, meanwhile in the pacific a lot more of the fighting is removed, alien. idk im just thinking
