How the Ruby Trio met one another.

(By the way I don't know how the gem code name works so we're just going to call them by nicknames.)

Here’s the full edit of my baby Velvet and her Rubies. I posted a transparent version on an earlier post talking about her.

I used 2 different backgrounds smashed together to try and give it the look of a more crowded area, like a plaza floor.

Velvet Sapphire was created for one Fuschia Diamond on the Gemsona amino which I will link here. This Diamond is known for creativity and her matronly/motherly attitude towards her court and fellow diamonds.

I took a similar approach to Velvet as she is the typical “mom friend” and, though small, she demands a certain amount of respect. She cares for the gems around her, storing all sorts of seemingly random items in her gem “just in case”.

She often takes it upon herself to handle misbehaving gems and, much like children, she often puts them in “time outs” in her time out bubbles for a short period of time. She does let the zircons and jaspers handle the criminal activity of course but not without delivering her own punishment as well;

Just like most real moms and kids, its one thing to make mom made its a whole different story when you disappoint her. And that applies here as many gems in Fuschia’s court hate this look more than the bubbles. Especially her own Ruby guard.

She has three Ruby guards all from the same vein in the same kindergarten. The trio (basically triplets) act as her own children. Rambunctious and playful like most RUbies, they’ve seen the inside of the Time Out Bubble many times. If they knew what a mother was, they would agree that Velvet is like a mother to them both in action and relationship.

Like a real mom, Velvet has a LOT of stuff to remember. Meetings, names, gems, stations, events both future and past, her head is full of things she needs to know. This fact, plus the fact that she practically lives in her future vision (she likes to study possible timelines as a hobby) makes her EXTREMELY forgetful. It’s not unusual to see her rushing to meetings or doing something after its due to be done. Ever since she got her Rubies this hasn’t been as much of a problem as they remember a lot for her.

I honestly love her design and her rubies a lot more than I expected. I’m gad you like her too!
