“Ground rules?” Quentin asks, tugging his gaze away from Eliot’s long fingers wrapped around the steering wheel.

“Ground rules,” Eliot says again. “I took—well, was forced into—a crash course in fake dating. It was Margo’s idea—spurred along by Fen—and I learned that ground rules are important. Like when Julia Roberts tells Richard Gere ‘I don’t kiss on the mouth.’” He glances over at Quentin, and at seeing the blank look on his face, explains, “She made me watch way too many fake dating movies. And the first season of Bridgerton.” He pauses. “Which I really enjoyed, even if the costuming was ridiculously inaccurate. The entire thing was honestly exhausting, and now Fen has a very warped image of the typical Earth high school experience.”

Quentin fully turns in his seat so he’s facing Eliot, cutting right to the heart of the matter. “How did you get Netflix in Fillory?”
