Characters constantly gassing up Viggo for whatever reason stops being an interesting build up and starts being an embarrassingly evident favoritism from the writers once you get past Viggo's first few episodes
#it made sense in season 2 because it works as a build up for the character reveal#but after that it's an instant eye roll#the twins fawning over the name Grimborn wow I'm sure he's so grandly evil what a name#Snotlout thinks he's scary but the enemy of Stoick the Vast and Berk's traitor Alvin wasn't scary right right#how is Viggo on his own scary like#the absolute behemoths of men Alvin and Ryker being scary even without weapons/soldiers/etc.? absolutely!#Krogan on his own being scary? yes! but VIGGO? who's locked in a cage??#speaking of imprisoned Viggo. Hiccup saving him from the fire would be good characterization if it wasn't for the fact -#- I know the writers wouldn't do that if it was a different villain#Hiccup only kills when he has no other choice and wants everyone to live but only when that everyone is someone we like#race to the edge#rtte#rtte salt
