Jason has been back at the gym for several weeks now and is working his way back to a healthier lifestyle. For anyone who has had or has a family member or friend go through this; we are praying for you. Jason is an amazing example of what a healthy immune system can do during a time of crises. We are thankful for his recovery and we are so happy to have him back at the box. Here is his story. On July 29th I was feeling extremely bad. Not so much sick, but tired. I was taken to the ER where I was found to have COVID. I walked into the hospital with an oxygen level of 40 and my health was failing rapidly. I was put on high flow oxygen for 14 days to raise my oxygen levels. The doctor that treated me in the ER visited me 3 days later. He started to tear up seeing me. He said “I did not expect you to make it through the night. Much less, be out of bed and sitting up.” We went over all of my numbers. He said “The only reason you’re still here is because you were living a healthy lifestyle. If it wasn’t for you working out, your body would not have been able to survive what it is being put through.” We had a few hiccups during the recovery process with pneumonia and valley fever. But, by the grace of God, I am here today. My recovery has been amazing. I am almost 3 months ahead of where the doctors thought I would be. My health grew exponentially as soon as I began to be active and healthy. Thanks to the RSCF family, and the amazing support they have shown, I am back to making myself better every day. Without the environment they provide, I would have been sitting at home instead of trying to become a healthier person.
