❦ Founder Household, Day Forty-Four ❦

The trip out to Selvadorada was long. Several times on the plane, Robyn wondered what she was really doing. If this was the right decision to make and even when she landed in the foreign area, a place she’d never been, she still questioned whether or not she should just hop on a plane and go back home. 

But she was here now and the cottage she’d rented was a beautiful little thing in the forest near town. It felt bigger than what she needed, with multiple bedrooms and a place for entertaining, but Robyn was here on her own and didn’t need all the space. She got to work quickly, heading into town for groceries and while she was in Selvadorada, she was going to eat like she was in Selvadorada, which meant following a video recipe on some of the local cuisine.

For dinner that night, Robyn made a local cuisine of a meat sandwich with spices she’d never tasted before. It was delicious and she promised herself she was going to make it for the kids when she got home. As she was eating, she went outside to the entertaining area nad sat in one of the chairs, listening to the sounds of the forest all around her. 

She tried to meditate on them. Tried to sit there and let the forest smell and sound and breeze wash over her. But every time she opened her eyes and saw the empty chairs around her, she just felt alone. Just another reminder that Johnny was gone and she was in this world on her own without him now. But it didn’t get her too down, or at least, she wouldn’t let it. Johnny wouldn’t want her to feel that way, she knew. Life was hers now, to do with whatever she wanted to do with. She was going to have to make the most of it, for Johnny.
