(this is actually one of my fave stories to tell tbh although it's sort of morbid but whatever)
(okay so my family owns a chain of funeral homes out on Long Island) Okay so in like 7th grade my science teacher, who was from Long Island like 90% of my family is like holy crap, was absent for a few days for like a family emergency and so when he got back naturally everyone was worried like 'Is everything okay? yadda yadda' and it turns out his father-in-law had died and so he had to go back to Long Island to take care of everything
So, I was like, "Oh, where on Long Island, I have family out there," bc I am a nosy little shit, and he said, "Out in Ronkonkoma." So I was like, "Oh no way! My family owns a funeral home out that way."
And the look of realization on this man's face was glorious. "You're that Moloney????"
and thus it turns out my family took care of the proceedings for my 7th grade science teacher's father-in-law's funeral
