Another #30minutemission kit

This is like Roy Roy’s cooler older sibling.

I think I posed the wrong robot here. The canon bike might belong to the knock-off zaku guys.

Today’s review: 30 Minute Missions Portanova frame!

I originally intended to get just two of these bots, but a friend bought me a 3rd one and now I have a whole patrol unit! The main draw for me with the Portanove is its alienesque appearance. If the Alto is more Earthly in design, these are what you could almost consider its mortal enemies from another world.

The articulation on these small kits is quite amazing given their size. They have a range of easily moveable joints, some double joints, swivel connections for each leg at the hip and a sturdy back support piece. The arms are quite stiff at the shoulders, but given they have some hefty additional weapons in the sets it feels like this was to pre-empt any collapses or tipping poses.

The weapons consist simply of a knuckle duster, a Roy Roy support unit and a gun you could use as a machine gun / beam rifle / whatever you make it really. It’s cool looking and has multiple mounts for various additions. The melee weapon they each come with is a rather flimsy flat faced knuckle duster, to which blades can be mounted from weapon packs.

As you can see I have added some additional armour packs to the red and dark grey unit and, with all kits, I’ve been able to use compatible gunpla campaign parts to make the kits even cooler!
