One of so many amazing shots during the #RoxyHerrenCharityEvent. A little backstory on how my friend, Jonas, and I met.
I was a counselor at a summer camp at Catskills Mountains. I gained notoriety as the camp storyteller, and that's what fostered my passion for becoming a writer. Over the years, as my career grew, my former campers would find me in social media and say things like 'I still have that early manuscript of The Eyes of Kid Midas you gave us at camp' or 'my kids are reading your books in school!' Jonas was always one of my favorite campers. In fact, I named my eldest son after him - giving him the Jonas as his middle name.
We had fallen out of touch for over twenty years, only to reconnect through Jonas' artwork. I purchased several early pieces when Jonas became full-time artist, and his company RaiderOriginals was in its infancy.
It has been a joy to watch Jonas emerge as a powerful presence in the art world. And now we have the opportunity to work together on the #Roxy gala with HerrenProject for a worthy cause! It really brings our lives full-circle.
