Not sure these will be eloquent, but here are my thoughts on the end of the book:

Moash you shit. Killing Teft and Phendorana to comatose Kaladin. Fuck. You.

Navani story had me at the edge of my seat. I did think her gone for good for a time

Honestly let’s all give that woman a standing ovation!

Kaladin did it though! He said the fourth ideal! And is actually healing!

Rlain got a spren and I think truthwatcher is very fitting for him

Eshonai did get to see the world

Shallan and Adolin have a seon! And is working with Kalak.

He and Ash seem like the least mad heralds so far

I see, I was right to distrust Ishar. He is a very dangerous kind of crazy

I did laugh when Dalinar told Kal to cure him of madness in ten days

It was also kinda funny when Ishar thought Dalinar was working with Odium and Odium thinks the opposite

Though with Taravangian as the vessel, everything is terrifying

Will Hoid realize what’s wrong?

I feel so wrung out after this. Almost everything in this part is emotionally draining

As if Kaladin didn’t have it bad enough last part, let’s have Odium torture him while in a coma

Thank god for Hoid

The dynamic between Hoid and Design was delightful, also Hoid describing dogs as: “fluffy and loyal and wonderful”

Shallan overcoming her fears and facing her past was written beautifully

Even though I was convinced Maya would come to Adolin’s aid, the trial was excruciating

This does lead to terrifying questions of what the recreance was about, but I’m too drained to contemplate that right now

We did free Lift and wake Teft and Kal, so that’s nice

I’m pretty confused about this Axindweth, since Ulim claims that Gavilar was working against him, but she seemed close to him?

And let’s now acknowledge to numbing blow that is Navani and Raboniel

This is such an emotional rollercoaster, where I repeatedly go from seeing them as frenemies for then to be reminded that there’s nothing compassionate here

Navani is such a strong woman simply awe inspiring

At the end felt so numb

Only to go into Hesina’s interlude and cry for an entire chapter

Holy hell all my thoughts have just been overshadowed by Taravangian so let’s start there:

Taravangian just realized there’s a difference between the power of a shard and mind of the vessel!

Taravangian knows that Renarin is of key importance

Taravangian is going to fight back!

AAAAAHHH

Okay I’m calm now. Except everything else is pretty shitty right now

Obviously there’s the betrayal, then the invasion is going very well for the fused, Adolin decided to be taken captive by the honorspren and Shallan is crumbling because Pattern might be spying on her

Also Lirin and Kaladins relationship is breaking my heart

I was so excited for Teft and Kaladin’s therapy team, you go and protect people from the darkness of their own mind!

And to stay with happy thoughts let’s all have a moment for Adolin and Maya in Shadesmar. Adolin introducing her to everyone. Grooming Gallant, doing katas together (and fighting the tukari)

You just know she’ll be the way he’ll convince the honorspren

I wonder if Rlain and Venli will meet now that he has “joined” them. I would love to see the last two listeners interact

But Syl seems to be getting depressed, but not wanting Kaladin to know. Syl you have to let him help you, you don’t have to be strong for him all the time!

These two are a perfect match though...

Raboniel is scary but also fascinating. Kinda getting mad scientist vibes from her, though she seems saner than most fused. Which is , you know, scary.

Did Lift just steal Hoids flute? And why does Mraize want to hunt her?

I’m over halfway through the book now and I’m equally excited and scared to finish it.

I’m to tired and depressed to keep going and yet I have no choice, but to do just that - Kaladin this entire part

This quote when he’s going into the highstorm: “like everything else today, they tried to kill him”

I’d hug you and snuggle you with blankets if I could

At least he and Syl made an agreement to help each other when feeling down

So Venmo was tricked (or at least insentivised) by Axindweth, who I assume is/was a member of the Sons of Honor, to find new forms and ultimately bring the Everstorm.

Venli and Eshonai truly had a strained relationship. They’re basically opposites.

But speaking of secret organizations, what is Mraize up to? Capturing Lift and giving her to Raboniel to gain a favor?

And what happened to the red “chicken”? I need to know!

So I get the feeling that Jasnah doesn’t know much about Hoid (yet)

Also did them being so murder-y

We finally got some Renarin

Venli’s practice with her powers gave us quite a lot of info, if I’m reading this right. The dawnsingers seem to have had powers too and likely build the tower.

Was pre-human Roshar just a wonderful place with Honor and Cultivation at peace?

No wonder Timbre is mad at them

Dalinar wants to learn from Ishar. I’m sorry but I don’t trust him since he’s the reason Nale refused to believe another desolation was coming.

Szeth calls himself Szeth son Honor <3

He still has lots of problems, but this was nice

The Chiri Chiri interlude was cute

Soft ones making sloppy wet noises aka humans talking - I mean that’s pretty funny

Rysn freaking out when she tries to speak

I feel like a lot has already happened and this is the SLOW part of the book, but anyway here are some quick(ish) thoughts:

First off Gavilar was asshole

Syl is precious and her interactions with Liren and Hesina brings me so much joy

I hate that Kaladin is falling deeper into his depression and like Syl I just want to help him

Adolin dragging Kal out with him and Shallan made me love their friendship even more

Honestly scared for both Kaladin and Shallans mental health. I love you guys please don’t break your minds!

The way Adolin is handling Shallans split personalities and supporting her, I mean, can this man do anything wrong?

Speaking of Kholin brothers WHY HAS THERE ONLY BEEN ON RENARIN APPERANCE?

Rock leaving hurt me almost as much as it did Kaladin

Leshwi is a boss and I’m so interested to see where her and Venli’s story go

Speaking off boss ladies queen Jasnah is amazing and her alliance with Hoid is cool though slightly scary at the same time. Can’t wait for some Jasnah POW.

The fact that Nightblood kept talking to the guards around Setzt (and Dalinar had to tell Szeth to make it stop three times) is pretty funny IMO

Also why aren’t they more interested in a TALKING SHARDBLADE?

Rushu could handle it I think and she’d be more than ready to investigate weird shit like this

It hurts me that Lirin doesn’t understand his son.

I didn’t see it this way, but I’d bet it’d be one of the few movies that would be worth seeing in those “immersive/moving theatre chairs.”

It’s basically a longer form episode of The Mandalorian. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t be able to follow along because I haven’t seen parts of the tv show or know all the lore, but it’s honestly pretty easy to follow without a ton of prior knowledge.
