i fucking love space horror. give me long-lost starships arriving in port filled with more corpses than they left it. give me space stations that no one knows the origin of. give me warp drives that allow you to skip across vast stellar gaps so long as they're fed with blood.

people think being generally anti-war but living military fiction is a curse but it's really not. i don't think there's any better way to depict the pervasively evil nature of war than by telling the stories of individuals drowning in it and ultimately ruined by it

wrote a long ass thing earlier this week about the inherent intimacy of torture and interrogation, the dependency and need when you can only rely on one person in the world to make the pain stop. being debased by the only person holding complete and total power over you, your god. then i showed it to a friend and they were like "rounder what the fuck is this" and i was reminded not everyone has my beautiful mind

I've come to the conclusion that Alien is so much more compelling than Aliens because the xenomorph is way, way more striking and intriguing as this one unique apex predator that no one really understands or knows the origin of than when there's a bunch of these Fucking Things running around

Feel like blood magic gets pigeonholed as a generic evil-dude magic way too often. What's so evil about taking advantage of the power we're all born with? Blood enriches us, nourishes us, keeps us alive. It's more 'natural' than any other school of magic, yet you never see cults of blood mages devoted to preserving nature. And if the concern is spilling the blood of others for power? That's just war, baby!

still somewhat new to using tumblr and by far my favorite interaction here is whenever i see someone reblog one of my completely non-horny microfics with the #nsfw tag. I always click their name to investigate, only to quickly learn that they have a raging, life-ruiningly niche fetish for space warfare or ghost werewolves or whatever that has gone unfed for 5 years until my post graced their dash like an angel's kiss
