During his journey? Not often, but he had times where he wasn't able to keep up with what was needed. When he first began training, he went in without a strategy more often than not. He would often find himself being low on money, due to the amount of potions he would need to buy.
Once he got his strategy down, however, Falkner didn't have too much of a hard time struggling with money. He already knew how to budget by this point and knew not to needlessly spend money on things he didn't immediately need.
