Amara  had  been  told  to  sit  down  twice  already  that  afternoon.  Which  was  exactly  why  she  felt  entirely  justified  in  setting  a  cup  of  water  down  in  front  of  Lillith  with  a  pointed  little  look.  ❝Before  you  say  anything,  this  isn't  me  being  a  hypocrite.❞  It  absolutely  was,  but  Amara  didn't  seem  particularly  interested  in  acknowledging  that  part.  Her  gaze  flicked  over  the  woman  instead,  taking  in  the  kind  of  details  she  had  gotten  annoyingly  good  at  noticing  lately  ⸻  how  long  Lillith  had  been  on  her  feet,  whether  she'd  eaten,  how  many  times  someone  had  called  her  name  in  the  last  hour. Probably  too  many.  Amara  leaned  one  hip  against  the  edge  of  the  station,  arms  folding  loosely  across  her  chest.  ❝When's  the  last  time  you  actually  stopped  for  five  minutes?  And  walking  from  one  patient  to  another  does  not  count.❞
