@Feverworm prompted me to draw some of their delightful trash fae species over on patreon. i drew up a little gang of mutants, most of which might not even survive their metamorphosis if the lore is correct. barebones personalities are as follows:
top left: too short and stout, weird horns. friendly but too clever and too willing to scam or steal food directly from the hippie couple who sells stuff down at the organic market. used to steal the rocks from their crystal collection and scratch doodles into everything until they started leaving bags of chalk out.
top right: too many spines, curious and excited. rips pictures out of books for their 'studies' and leaves behind 'perfectly good' replacements. the most scared about possible problems during metamorphosis.
bottom left: many many mutations. the twins are mysterious little daredevils. they absolutely don't expect to survive to adulthood so they don't really 'get' long term repercussions and are generally super mischievous.
bottom right: underdeveloped back legs basically makes it look like they have a seal for a tail. being the only egg of their clutch to survive and being sickly for a spell afterwards made their Monarch a little over protective. they're just now venturing farther away from their home territory. loves to swim.
