This article focuses on the 288 drivers who compete in four categories: Junior Max, drivers 13-15 years of age; Senior Max, drivers 15-19 years of age; DD2, drivers from 19-31; and DD2 Masters, drivers older than 31 (Cole, 2015a).  The article talks about the first practice for this event, and how the 20 American drivers took on the track. Each division will be designed to one kart company – all the drivers will have the same motors and same karts. Everything needs to be the same. You can’t bring in your own outside tools or equipment; everything is supplied for you. This is to ensure that no one cheats. The results show how competitive these races are. From all these classes, only a tenth of a second can keep you out of first place. The times are so tight because these are the best drivers from around the world. In order to compete in this race, drivers have to qualify. They have to win a certain number of races. The races they win have to be on the highest competitive level.
