I think it would have been a very unhappy marriage. Fantine would have been easy to manipulate, especially as he knew she couldn’t read. He would probably have started to have extramarital affairs, secretly at first, before becoming more liberal and less willing to hide them.

A few months had passed after Harry Potter had defeated the Dark Lord once again, this time for real, and Theodore found himself back at Hogwarts with most of the other students. As much as he loved being there without having to pretend that he was in any way associating with the Death Eaters, he still couldn’t shake off the feeling of constant danger. Those months during the war had been horrible, and Theodore still found himself expecting the Carrows to walk around the corner. He couldn’t tell when that fear would finally go away.

He was slowly getting there, though; they all were. And he couldn’t deny that he was glad that he could openly spend time with his sister now, that he could associate with whoever he wanted to instead of pretending to be a typical Slytherin.

        “what? i wasn’t doing ANYTHING.” wylan blinked innocently at him, though that was instantly contrasted by a triumphant smirk. it was oddly satisfying to see jesper getting distracted from polishing his business pitch for the next meeting. that whole zemeni oil presentation was a hit, and so wylan couldn’t resist nudging the charming sharpshooter back to the pitching game where he successfully fluffed out numerical GAPS in spreadsheets ( Thanks, Father. ) and made any TEDIOUS meeting CHEERFUL like he always belonged in the business world.

EMBARRASSMENT in the shape of flushed cheeks is barely visible due to equally red freckles, but the way he clings to a brown beanie is proof enough that Charlie is somewhat ashamed by his appearance. For good reason. Where once were untamed locks up to his shoulder, are now spikey strands where not one matches the other in length. Even his beard couldn’t be spared the merciless snips.

    LUCKILY,  Charles doesn’t submit to defeat so easily ;  apart from the piece of headgear, he soon wears only a smile ( albeit a slightly awkward one ). Upon entering the kitchen, he notices his older sibling ( GROOM-TO-BE ! ) and slaps him casually on the shoulder as a joking comment flees through his lips.   

The mun may or may not be lowkey having a breakdown, lol.

Absolutely terrified. I really, at some point, want to write with a Marius because I can imagine the boy taking Fantine privately aside without Cosette’s knowledge and acknowledging her anxiousness over their marriage, but also promising on his life that he will protect her at all costs.

It wouldn’t do much in the way of calming Fantine’s nerves; she needs to see it rather than hear it. Tholomyès said the same things Marius says to Cosette - there’s no guarantee that he’s any better.

The wedding she can barely even consider and it makes her feel sick. Fantine doesn’t have the heart to tell Cosette the entire truth of their pasts, why what happened needed to happen. The wedding brings all those truths back tenfold and despite not understanding why, Cosette can see how uncomfortable it makes her mother. Valjean is there to support both of them, but Fantine knows this is something she will need to address with both Marius and Cosette together.

             he had never been a great lover of music. oh, it was all pleasant enough! -- but to expect him to remain enraptured through the entirety of some monstrosity by gluck or handel was demmed unthinkable! even when performed by the talented young things of the opera populaire.... so, instead he sought a few moments respite, ejoying the peace of the terrace and the cool night air. keen senses quickly noted, however, that he was not alone. the man’s face was not wholly unknown to him, though he was no personal acquaintance. the vicomte de chagny was hardly an obscure name in fine parisian society...
