smol/Red Whistle!Caerul and her late twin brother, Roseus!  It wouldn’t be Made in Abyss without horrible things happening to children... although as things go in that series, falling off a cliff is actually really tame tbh 😬

Coy Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus ©Laura Quick Africa, Indian subcontinent, Middle East and southern Europe. Tropics as well. Also high elevation birds that seem all whimpy when you see them but which are seriously hardcore. A few adaptations: 1. Can drink near boiling water 2. Their feet freeze to the ground in cold weather and thaw when temps rise the following day 3. The alkaline lakes where they breed would peel your skin off, but thanks to keratin scales, it's not a problem for flamingos, also no predators. 4.
