What: Rose and Eric become closer friends, and then... oopsie.
When: Tuesday, April 30, early afternoon.
Eric had just pulled up to the Lima Bean after his last class. Throwing his backpack into the back seat, he got out of the car and made his way to the door. Once inside, he decided to claim a table and wait for Rose to show up.
Rose arrived at the Lima Bean, smoothing her skirt and walking in. It was a nice, welcome change from studying on campus. Once in, she looked around for Eric, basing her knowledge of what he looked like on the pictures he had posted. Seeing who she believed to be him, she walked over. "Eric?"
Eric perked up when he heard his name. He turned around to see who had acknowledged him and saw the girl from online. Or, at least, he was pretty sure it was her, she looked the same as pictures and knew his name. He smiled, "Hey, Rose!"
Rose breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to him, grinning. He was cute. For a boy. If she liked boys, she could almost say she would have a crush on him. "Hi!" she exclaimed, sitting down with him. "How are you?"
Eric turned to face more of the table again. "I'm good, and yourself?"
Rose grinned and shrugged. "I'm great. Exams are almost over, thank god."
Eric brought his index finger to just in front of his lips. "Shh, no mocking the high school student about you almost being done school."
Rose giggled and made jazz hands. "I'm almost finished school for the year~" she sang.
Eric pouted and plugged his ears. "Blah, blah, I can't hear you, blah."
Rose leaned across the table and raised her voice slightly. "It's not polite to do that to a lady."
Eric looked her straight in the eye, holding back a laugh. "It's not polite to brag in general."
Rose stared at Eric, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, give it up. You know I'm going to win this."
Eric sighed, "Fine, only because I won yesterday, I'll let you win."
Rose gave a joking indignant huff. "You won't /let/ me win!"
Eric sighed again, "What do you want from me then?"
Rose giggled. "Admit it. I win!"
Eric "Fine, you win." He finally gave into the chuckle that had been fighting to escape.
Rose burst out laughing. "Yay!" she exclaimed. "You'll have to forgive me. I'm not usually this giddy. Exams."
Eric chuckled at her bubbliness. "It's all good. I'm pretty crazy and stuff all the time, so I'm used to it."
Rose nodded and shrugged. "D'you want to stay here or just head off?"
Eric shrugged, "Today's winner gets to choose, especially since you're a lady."
Rose stood up and stretched. "Let's go. I've had way too much coffee lately."
Eric stood up shortly after her. "Alright, caffeinated girl. Anywhere you'd like to go in particular?"
Rose thought for a moment. "You get to take me to the mall. Because reasons."
Eric nodded his head. "Sounds good to me. But I ain't buying you anything!"
Rose gave an over-exaggerated sigh. "Okaaaaaaay..."
Eric chuckled as they left the coffee shop.
Rose enjoyed their journey to the mall. While they were browsing in one of the stores, she drifted away from Eric, looking at skirts.
Eric hardly noticed that Rose had gone to look at something in the store, as he was distracted by some jackets.
Rose vaguely noticed a girl approach Eric as she flipped through the racks.
Eric looked up as someone brushed against his arm. Right next to him was a random blonde girl, one he had never seen before. His eyes quickly flicked over her; she was wearing a tank top and very short shorts. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, Eric took a sideways step, only for the girl to follow him. "Hey, you're kinda hot." she said, twirling her hair in her fingers.
Rose continued to absentmindedly flip through clothes.
Eric looked away from the girl. "Um hi. I'm Eric..." He bit his lip, hoping she would leave soon. However, quite the opposite happened. "You should come over to my place. We could have my type of party." She winked as she said this, taking a step closer to lessen the already small gap between them. "I'd uh, rather not. I'm hanging out with a friend, and I can't just leave them here." He attempted to take another side step, but was stopped by her grabbing hold of his hand. "Come on, please?" She looked up at him with puppy eyes.
Rose turned and caught sight of what was going on. Her eyes narrowed and she acted impulsively, strolling over briskly. "Oh, baby! I need to show you something over here!" she exclaimed in a giggly voice. Putting her arms around Eric's neck, she shot the girl a mock jealous look and pressed her lips to Eric's.
Eric tilted his head at being called baby, especially from none other than Rose. He soon caught on though and smiled as she came over. However, he was again caught off guard when he was kissed... Again by none other than Rose... Once their lips parted, he glanced over at the other girl, who had a disgusted look on her face. Five seconds later, the girl had turned on her heels and was storming out of the shop.
Rose managed to keep a sweet smile on her face until the girl left. Once the two of them were alone, it hit her, what she had done, and she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. Glancing up at Eric with a slightly disgusted look on her face, she grimaced. "Um. Sorry. Just trying to help."
Eric looked at Rose and made sure to hide his feeling being slightly hurt at her grimace. "No no, it's fine. Um..." He brought his hand up to fix his hair.
Rose glanced at the floor, biting her lip. "I, uh, I'm gonna go... wash... yeah... sorry."
Eric nodded, "Yeah, go ahead." He turned around and began looking at the jacket he had been looking at again.
Rose turned to leave, then looked back. "I know I said no funny business. But that was me. And I'm sorry," she said softly before turning and bolting off to the nearest washroom.
