It’s certainly jarring to hear her so openly upset, but he’s never one to discourage vulnerability. As they near the library, and the walls start to shield them from the wind, his hands don’t have to cling just to stay nearby. He wraps one hand around to her back, finally able to return the hug in his own fashion, and the other gratefully takes his hat. It’s also easier to talk, so he takes the opportunity. Rosemaster is commendably patient with all manner of bothersome things, so it’s not hard to tell that something more than the cold is off.  **“What’s wrong? Have you been okay?”**
