i believe i’ve written against them with another name that escapes my memory this instance, but they’re a complete and utter challenge. whenever we’ve written, i always feel like i’m kept on my toes and trying to really dig into how my character might react to theirs. most of the time, it’s by putting her foot in her own mouth and fearing she might have some weird spell put on her for it. they’re sweet out of character too and i torture them with rares i have of phoebe from time to time. it’s in good fun!
what do you think Kai's feelings toward Annette are? Would he ever feel romantic inclinations toward her?
So, Kai met Annette in three key points in his life. Once as a child, back in 1994 and in present time after the merge. I think that at best during his childhood he might experienced a crush on her, that wore off by the years before he met her again. And by that time, Kai was already dumb to emotions and became the sociopath we know. only a few days after she met her again he massacred his siblings, no matter her kind words.
On their second encounter I do recall he leaned close in a way to try to kiss her, but this was a reaction to the comfort she brought, having found his father finally gave the final struck of neglancence, he seeked comfort. But 20 years in a prison change a person and Kai is dumb to any feelings, a sociopath who will stop at nothing.
Now he has Luke’s empathy and emotions but he is still himself. Every emotion is new and explored and he doesn’t know how quite react to them, often fighting them off. So, do I think he might feel romantic toward her? No. At least, not in a near future, Kai is a long way to even feel something remotely like love and I think he would wear it off. At the time, Kai takes in Annette two of the Triple Goddess complex (the mother, the maiden and the lover) he only sees her as the first two as she appeared as a vision for a child in need, and then as a mother figure to him even now. So for the time being, I ENJOY playing Kai feeling like a child again (they cook together, she took care of him, gives him shelter).

Enough was enough. The first night didn't bother him too much. He understood that the baby was probably in a whole new environment, was uncomfortable and needed to adjust and all- he even felt kind of bad for it as it cried all night long. The second night he was honestly too busy to even notice. The third involved a lot of alcohol and him basically passing out in bed, making it impossible to even recall how he got home to begin with. The point was that he got it. Babies cry. It was their way of communicating, of indicating that something was wrong or whatever, but there was a limit. Six nights were too many nights for an entire floor of people to have to tolerate a screaming child.
He took an extra shift at work that night, hoping that he'd get home too tired to even hear the cries, but sure enough, he heard it as soon as he reached his floor. Stefan released a sigh as he made his way to his door before he saw her. She seemed exhausted and a small wave of guilt rushed through him as he realized how hard it must've been to actually live with a screaming baby.
"Uh, hi." he gave her a small wave, speaking up a bit so she'd be able to hear over the baby's cries. "I'm Stefan. 412." He gestured back towards his door and smirked. "She's got quite a pair of lungs on her, huh?" He was trying to be polite, he really was, but how do you kindly tell someone to shut their kid up?
