EXACTLY!!! I'm not trying to bash the actors, they are talented. But a huge, huge part about the trilogy is the theme of innocence, particularly the loss of it. They're meant to be 13, not 23, the message wont feel the same. In the 2nd and 3rd books when todd gets manipulated, that largely derives of the innocence and naivety of childhood, and how numbing it is (when he willingly silences his noise) to be a child of war. It just doesn't work.

And knowing the film industry, they're immediately going to be pushing Todd and Viola's romance instead of their friendship then eventually leads to an ambiguous-ish romance in the third book, it just makes me so mad.

Did you also hear that they aren't giving Manchee any noise? Yes, it'll make his death a little less soul crushing, but what about the iconic poo, todd? I want to cry.

Also, the few frames that we did see the spackle in, didn't fit the book at all - there they look hideous and monster-esque (note the black colouring instead of white/milky colouring originally given, I would be surprised if they made them totally evil). I just really want the lanky, cute and innocent spackle :(
