michael/rory fans fucking pick one
rorichael
michrory
verrabear
verabear (yes they’re separate, choose ONE.)
if you think of rorichael as star crossed lovers i think you can really have a lot of fun with it. because really, theres no way the real versions of Michael and Rory would’ve ever known each other. Michael moved to Canada at such a young age and while we don’t necessarily know Alex’s relationship with Rory outside of this reality, it’s not unlikely he only knew Rory as an adult.
so here these two are in this never ending cycle of a man’s distorted reality and they’re there in the middle of it all when they shouldn’t be. they get to know each other with each cycle, sometimes Rory lives and sometimes he doesn’t. but they still interact. they get to know each other. they shouldn’t, not really, because it was impossible for them to have ever met. but why should that stop them? they get to know each other. they de-centre Alex, they defy his vision of reality where he’s the most important figure of their lives. they talk of computer games and shitty movies and mediocre fast food with hands brushing against each other underneath a burger joint table over dozens and dozens of cycles. always getting closer.
and they know each other now. they never should’ve known each other, it isn’t correct that they know each other, and it will never end as they want. Rory will either be cut short or Alex will destroy them both again and again and again. but they know each other now. maybe that’s all they ever needed.
who has the right to take that away from them?
