basically this au is that when chara fell underground, they were carrying these parasitic spores that attached to monsters and drained their magic (not that they were aware of this, as the parasites didn’t attach to humans like that). they take the form of plants, and change based on the monster’s magic. (theres a LOT more to this, but imma save all the specifics about how they work for another post)

basically sprout got infected and the plants ended up growing in his skull, causing it to crack and plants to grow out of his eye :( he is also constantly tired cuz he is running on very low magic. his bones are rlly brittle and shit becuz of it too. the roots kinda took up shop in his ribs and wherever else they could take up, which is largely uncomfortable for him.

also id like to note that the flowers on them are christmas roses
