Introducing UpRoots

Every December, progressive organizers gather in Washington, DC for RootsCamp. The skills shared and lessons learned there are invaluable to organizers across the country.

Now we’ve decided to extend some of those opportunities throughout the year.

We’re proud to launch UpRoots, a new, skill-based unconference taking place at the NOI offices over the next few months.

Beginning with UpRoots Leadership on May 10th, NOI will be bringing organizers together monthly through September with small unconferences focused on Data/Technology, Digital Organizing, Media/Communications, and Voting/Election Administration.

Prior to each UpRoots, attendees will be able to submit session ideas, which will be voted on by other attendees. Like RootsCamp, other session slots will be filled in the day of the conference when attendees arrive.

With the focus on skill sharing, we hope that UpRoots will help make our organizations and campaigns stronger by learning from each other more often.
