I’M SO HAPPY DAUGHTER!!!

kay so my teacher passed along an opportunity to me a couple months ago for a really quick, like, one-time contract job. he showed me and my work off and it seemed like a good fit... but i was asleep at the time. they needed someone like THAT night. so it didn’t happen for me and my heart was broken...

then a couple months later, they said they might need a full-time person. and i was DEFINITELY interested so i called them up! but then they said ay we might not need someone after all. sorry. we’ll call u if we need you.

but i try my best to always be polite and cordial and quick to respond to stuff like that because u never know, sometimes that attitude is like, the difference.

so they emailed me asking for an interview yesterday, and i went in and it was a really good fit!! the guy who interviewed me saw a lot of himself in me and my story; how i switched around degrees and schools and went all over. he even wanted to do animation, which just didn’t work. 

i told him how i was already really proficient at using macs and the adobe suite and stuff and they told me i was hired!!! and i’ll be making really good money now and it’s SUPER laid back and everyone is really nice and cool, and i am so excited. i had completely given up on going after anything in my field, i was sure i was doomed to retail.

i’m so happy i could cry. 2018 really is gonna be the year of good things (i told my current work i’d stick it out until december 30th, when the schedule is finished)
