“just go!” the pinkette managed to say between shaky breaths, her palms firmly pressed against her stomach right where a rogue’s katana had pierced just moments ago. despite her dangerously low chakra reserves, she was already working on healing the injury. though exactly because she had used most of it already, it was taking much longer than she would’ve liked.
their other teammate had lured their enemy away from her & hopefully finished them off already. now they were most likely checking the surroundings but, even if she trusted them to death, she couldn’t let shikamaru stay behind & act like her bodyguard. “please just---” her gaze rose to meet his & the intensity of his answer instantly shut her up. ‘i won’t leave you behind!’.
he wouldn’t budge, she knew then. no matter what she said, nothing would change his mind. it fills her with something that she can’t quite name yet. what a stubborn man. even more stubborn than her. how was that even possible? despite the pain, she almost feels like smiling. when emeralds rise to find his eyes again, her voice is soft. “… this will only take a minute.”
