okay so sorry to just barge into your inbox like this, — but I saw your tags AND?? holy shit. Yeah.
Last Raiser thought of the day — I think it’d be super angsty if he joked about life expectancy for garage experiments, and Shroud— maybe, behind some prison enforced glass screen, because they (he and Robert) have to visit? His shoulders drop for a single moment. And maybe Elliot Connors lives, for a second, in the regret.
“Pft. .. okay.. but I’m 39. So.”
“…I didn’t think you needed more than that.”
nah, no need to apologize, this is what the inbox is for >:3
Also, I had another thought. So, I briefly mentioned that what if his blood was blue before, and then I said "well maybe horseshoe crabs". But if Shroud never meant for him to live this long, maybe that's because he wasn't trying to even make a fully functioning person, so much as he was trying to create a viable, super-blood bank of sorts for himself to use for his own experiments and tests.
Because horseshoe crabs and their blood is blue, being copper-based. And it is used for various medical things, such as testing vaccines due to its unique clotting response. So, maybe Shroud wondered if he could create a type of blood-based vaccine that could extend lifespans or create a whole new branch of medical tests since the blood would be closer to human blood.
Or perhaps, create an injection that could grant him a healing factor by boosting his own immune system so that could prevent him from ever being sick again. Or just blood supplements that Shroud could inject into himself. Imagine making a bio-implant that circulates a blood compound you collected from the child you made in your basement.
Or if he had no exact one plan, and just had to reach the threshold of "can I make a viable life form" (to see if he could even do it, might have had a few failed attempts before raiser) before he could calculate the possibilities of "okay I have a life form now, how should I use it".
Also, might I add that the life expectancy of a horseshoe crab is 20 to 40 years in the wild. So, yeah, think of that what you will...
Or Shroud could've used other blue-blooded animals such as mollusks like octopuses, squids, cuttlefish, or a marine worm like a peanut worm. All that to conclude that it could mean that Roofraiser has both iron and copper present in his blood. And that it is very likely that if Shroud intended to use Raiser's blood for himself, that they have the same blood type.
Could draw a medical diagram that Shroud might've made that points to all of Raiser's body parts and organs and listing out what they could be used for. And that Raiser finds that and the horror of your creator viewed you as a bunch of parts rather than a child that he brought into the world.
Maybe the reason Raiser doesn't know that his own blood was red or even know how a person would naturally bled (at least doesn't know that he can naturally bleed) was because Shroud never let him bleed unless it was him doing it, because that would be wasteful. And at the time, his blood was blue so he doesn't know that it eventually turned red. And maybe, Shroud is disappointed that Raiser's blood is "less effective" since it turned more and more red as he got older and he thought that meant that it lost some of its effectiveness.
