if it's not too much.. can i ask you how you did your anatomy studies/character studies? i really REALLY like drawing my little modern warfare ladies and lads, but i can't get more on the realistic side (where i've been wanting to lean) and having to stylize it just because i'm so bad at anatomy studies and character studies

OHHH Thank you for asking! im not sure if i can share any useful advice because im still learning but i can share what i've been doing... :)

i spend LOTS of time finding ideas and references. personally i prefer refs featuring figures with clearly defined muscle definition bcuz that way, every time I draw, it’s like studying anatomy :)

(some examples below and make sure you NEVER choose AI-generated images)

but mostly i don't draw something exactly like the refs. i'll make some adjustments based on the reference image such as changing the arm positioning or swapping the facial expression etc. at this point, i'll need to look for refs of various parts of the human body.

then all that’s left is practice practice and practice and learning from others—that’s it!
