Has this been mentioned? Their earrings here and some other scenes are ronghua 绒花 a type of traditional craft. It's translated as velvet flowers and it's a process of using silk threads to make originally flowers hence the 花, but now people make all sorts of things.
If anyone's ever seen videos or attempted it is not an easy process. Master craft people can make it seem fast and easy, but that takes awhile to get to. There's many different techniques including flat petals and puffier versions like these that can be made into animals and tails too! In theory these wouldn't be too hard because it looks like just one piece spun, but whole flowers or even a 盆景 is a lot of work. To get evenly fluffy too takes practice!
Actually, going back to before revealing themselves as 九尾狐 they didn't wear the fuzzy cute vaguely tail shaped earrings but started wearing after the reveal.

Hi hanfu tumblr! I'm not sure who to ask about this, but is it appropriate to wear the hairpins (I think theyre called zan, and notably the velvet flower / ronghua type style) with non-hanfu outfits? Like, just regular outfits?
I think they're absolutely stunning, but I know, even if I had a hanfu that was like. frmo my dreams. i'd never end up wearing it

My favorite is probably the Song dynasty-style set by 上遥居 that I got from Nüwa Hanfu. It has a lovely color palette of lilac, pink, and white, light & ethereal fabrics, and exquisite floral embroidery & pearl accents. Perfect for spring!:
