to me the biggest part of romanstewy is the observing and jealousy and wishing he had someone to help ‘get him out’ of his head, of the everyday family minutia in the way that he sees stewy does for kendall. being jealous of not just kendall for having stewy but also of stewy for being able to make kendall feel okay for five minutes in a way he can’t.

in this scene alone, i can see the countless times roman wanted to hang out with stewy and kendall because he thought stewy was so cool (ie had a crush on him) but kendall and stewy always kicked him out so the two of them could be gay together. and roman was always jealous because he wanted stewy to look at HIM the way he looked at kendall

Okay, I'm home, time for Romestewy getting together in LA headcanons.
Roman turns thirty in LA and throws a huge but exclusive thing. Kendall is going, and Stewy cons his way into joining on Kendall's invite. This is the first time they see each other in easily two or three years, and maybe closer to five since they've had an actual conversation besides in passing.
Roman is loath to engage with Stewy not because he dislikes him but because Stewy represents a kind of success in NYC that, by this point, Roman is pretty sure he's been completely locked out of. He's weird and snippy to him and Kendall all night until Stewy corners him for a drink to call him out for being bitchy (with great amusement). Kendall's found a mountain of cocaine for himself by this point, so Stewy sticks around with a surprisingly drunk and high Roman who - in the middle of a luxury Hollywood party - confesses that he's fucking miserable in his usual joking-not-joking way.
Stewy decides to cheer Roman up by talking about all of the good shit in Roman's life, including as a matter of fact that Roman is hot, and Roman's brain breaks, because apparently Stewy thinks he's hot??? He's fucked up enough that he goes for it, and they abandon the party to spend the night and the entirety of the next day together (Kendall does not know explicitly where Stewy is at this point).
Stewy's due back in Manhattan the day after that. WHICH IS FINE. EVERYTHING IS FINE. Everyone goes back to their lives and forgets. Obviously. Right up until one of them sends the first text to the other, and they don't stop.

I love that Roman/Stewy seems to be gaining some traction right now (hello pairing I never even though about before this week and am now increasingly into), but I do have to laugh at how people seem to mostly be on the "obviously Roman has a crush on Stewy, but it's unrequited, Stewy just sees him as Ken's annoying little brother" train and meanwhile, I’m just sitting here going, but that's no fun! The fun is when it starts that way and then Stewy gets fucking clotheslined by feelings.
I want Stewy just completely baffled and furious at himself for falling for Roman of all people. I want him to remember all the times he was amused by Roman's obvious crush on him, or annoyed by Roman being Roman, and suffer in the knowledge that he's currently being so much more embarrassing than Roman's ever been. He caught feelings! For Roman Roy! Someone put him out of his misery.
And then he’s like, fuck it, if this is happening, he might as well commit and make it happen for real. And then a happy ending, because I am, at heart, an incredibly basic bitch.
