Romantic Getaway Booked
Valentines is just around the corner and I always like to surprise the wife with an unexpected getaway. Last year we enjoyed a magical two night city break in Barcelona and with temperatures of 22 degrees Celsius, a nice respite from the English weather. Our hotel was also centrally located and just a 5 minute walk from the Magic Fountain, which is an absolute must see. I'll post the video above ⬆ So this years planning will be hard to top but I have been given strict instructions this year to keep any night away within the UK as Hayley doesn't wish tone too far from the children in case of an emergency. I really thought this would limity search, but you don't realise how many lovely, scenic and even romantic destinations are just on your doorstep and how we really do take these for granted. After days of searching across numerous hotel websites and tourist information sites I have settled for a nights stay in the ideallic lake district. We have visited here once before in November 2013 at the Langdale Hotel and have a lovely weekend away even after a failed hiking expedition resulted in Hayley sliding down a hillside on her derriere. No injuries luckily 😊 This year we will be staying over on valentines night in Kendall at Romney's Apartments, which from the images looks perfectly stunning with rustic beams and a spiral oak staircase, which I hope isn't too difficult to ascend under the influence. Attached to a pub/restaurant we will be able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery will all the amenities we could need right on hand.
