Lately my life has been consumed with what I've dubbed "handbook season" at Rollins College. It's the time when a variety of departments on campus come to me with a design request for handbooks for their department, for a certain set of eyes, etc. This #RollinsFSL book is one of my favorites, it's got a REALLY unique size, and it's eye-catching and informative.

INSPIRATION:

As I've done a few handbooks over the past few years, I've seen a trend in terms of what each handbook should be communicating. This book the department requested to be a little bit more unique, so I really had fun with it. I added lots of bright colors, and I made it different compared to the year before when their information was combined with another department. I didn't really look for inspiration for this project. It was more about winging it as I went along, and hoping that they liked it. AND THEY DID!

DESIGN/FINAL PROJECT:

Every five to seven years, Rollins will redesign their R-Card (ID card). This year I was asked to design it, and I'm so incredibly thrilled to share it!

The Rollins R-Card is used for everything, to check out library books, to get in and out of the parking garage, as key access in and out of certain locations, and more. It's something that every student and every employee must have while being a part of Rollins College!

INSPIRATION:

Right now, Rollins College has a specific design style to things. Everything is pretty clean, bright, and communicating a specific message. I go through spurts of using certain images for projects. The photo on this one, has been growing in my So after a few iterations of the design, and after showing it to a variety of people, we got something down, and they're being printed/distributed as we speak!
