Skating has been the single biggest thing that stopped me from being a perfectionist. When you strive for perfection you become frozen with inaction. Sometimes Never starting anything that you know you won’t be good at. But it’s okay to be the fool, the person who starts dancing first, the person who asks the questions on everyone’s mind. Foolishness is brave vulnerability in the name of growth. And I’m finally okay with being the fool if it also means that I will gain so much more in return. His book 12 Rules For Life has been the largest factor of personal growth for me as an individual and his lectures have helped me more than anything I learned in school. I read this book at least twice a year and cannot stress enough how his self authoring program and those rules have helped guide me. Anyway, come be a fool and learn to skate with me.
