The week started splendidly, as this collection of images shows.
I took these photographs on Tuesday, while we were in the middle of a brief spell of weather that was almost summer-like. Temperatures reached the mid-twenties, we enjoyed wall-to-wall sunshine, and a few people started moaning that it was too hot.
It was all over before the weekend. Walking the dogs for the first few days of the week was a shirt-sleeves affair; by the end of the week we were back to jumpers and body-warmers. With one brief exception, the forecast thunderstorms didn’t materialise, and the rainfall hasn’t been too heavy. I am glad, though, that I managed to mow what it amuses me to call our back garden before the weather turned. The current forecast suggests that, by the middle of the coming week we should be back to pleasant weather again.
When we tried to start the camper to move it for a bit of grass-cuttery mid-week, we found that its main battery was flat. We charged the battery overnight, in-situ, and everything was fine. Two days later, the battery was flat again. I removed the battery and charged it away from the vehicle. It took the charge well, the meter reading 12.8V. Three days later, it is still fully charged (12.6V). That tells me that the battery itself is in good working condition, and that there must be an electrical leak somewhere in the camper, that we will have to find and deal with. The leisure battery that feeds the living part of the vehicle is holding its charge normally.
Our guests, Tuur and Elise, have settled in very well and have adjusted to our pattern of life, as we have adjusted to allow for their needs. The latest news we heard about their owner was positive, and we continue to wish her well.
