Hey, Miss Murder || Rogue
Marie touched her fingers to her forehead, she could feel a headache coming on. That was so very rarely a good thing. Her vision blurred and she shook it away. Oncoming migraine maybe. She should probably head back to the mansion before it took full effect. She walked back to the car she'd borrowed from the mansion garage and fumbled with the keys. They slipped from her fingers to the floor as Marie's vision swayed again.Â
She dropped to her knees, eyesight blurring again. Someone appeared beside her and picked up the dropped keys, holding them out to her. "You okay?" There was a female voice and Marie looked up to see a blonde woman standing over her.Â
"Not really sure," she muttered. A hand came out to help her up and she took hold on it with her own bare one. She felt the familiar pull of her power, but surely she was imagining it, her powers were gone, taken by the cure.Â
Apparently not, the woman's eyes rolled back into her head and Rogue gasped, her own head pounding. She pulled away but her body had other ideas. Her eyes fluttered shut and she fell forward, straight onto the poor woman.Â
She awoke to the sound of sirens and people talking. She lifted her head to look around, a paramedic was leaning over her.
"Don't!" she cried as a hand descended towards her. "Don't touch me!"Â
The hand stopped. Rogue pushed herself away from it, and went flying. She skidded back a couple of meters before stopping. There were a multitude of shouts from around her. Most theorizing that she was a mutant.Â
She couldn't see the blonde woman.
"Miss?" the paramedic said, stepping towards her, arms outstretched in a gesture of what she assumed was peace.
Rogue wordlessly shook her head, looking around again for any sign of the woman.
My name's Carol.
Oh. Oh. That was not good.Â
"Th' woman who was with me, where is she?" she half-demanded, getting to her feet.Â
"In the ambulance. Can you tell us what happened?"Â
Well, she had a couple of theories, they just weren't really to be discussed here. She really needed to get back to the mansion.Â
I can get you back there.Â
And just like that, her feet weren't touching the floor anymore.Â
Shit, flying. That was so very, very not good.
Even the paramedic seemed slightly perturbed by that.Â
Let's get out of here.
And like that she was away, above the crowds, the flashing lights of the ambulance, the buildings of New York and she was on her way back to the mansion.Â
