Dear Mr. Downey,

Happy birthday! I hope it's an amazing one and that you have a great, relaxing, sunny day. Unless you like rainy weather. In which case I wish for clouds to hover over you. 

Now that the formalities are out of the way -- I want to thank you. Mostly for your films, but also for being yourself. But I'll start with your films. My father was a film major in college and my mother just an appreciator. They together taught me almost everything I know about movies today. Which includes the introduction of you. 

I remember when the Iron Man trailer was released and I showed it to my father. He immediately took me to his DVD collection, pulled out Chaplin, and demanded I watch it. He told me that you were one of the greatest actors of your generation and that I should keep a look out for you because you were making a comeback. At that point, the only film I had ever seen you in was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but Chaplin proved to me that you were skilled in all forms of acting, not only comedic. 

My mother then forced me to relive her graduate school years with her by watching endless episodes of Ally McBeal. When you popped up unexpectedly in the middle of the show, I was done for. Already a fan, I became a fanatic. Iron Man was only the cherry on top of the already-terrific sundae. 

So I want to thank you for forming yet another bond between my parents and I. Thank you for always being yourself, whether it be in the countless interviews I've read and watched, on the red carpet, or presenting / accepting an award. I look forward to everything you will do in the future, and am ever so happy that my father's prediction came true - you did indeed make a comeback, and it was glorious.

Favourite ice cream flavour?

Grasshopper pie ftw. (Though nothing beats a Barney's oreo milkshake.)

Chocolate or vanilla?

UMMM. CONTEXT? I kinda really don't like chocolate cake so I'd definitely say vanilla there, but chocolate ice cream is yummy. Except if I have fruit to mix in I probably prefer vanilla there, too. So wow I never would have thought I'd pick vanilla, but I guess... Vanilla?

What is one thing you would give your life for?

My cat. No, really. I already lost Gina, and I already failed Sophia when she was a kitten; I will never fucking fail her again.

Rich and ugly or poor and pretty?

Oh god. Honestly? Rich and ugly. Because I seriously just don't give a damn what people think of my physicality but there are a lot of things that I want in the world, and they add up to being pretty damn expensive.

What was the most stressful experience you’ve ever had?

...Huh. I don't know. Maybe that time that Sophia got stuck behind the oven. Or just my entire first year of college, yeah. Or probably something I can't think of atm, actually.

Have you ever failed a test? 

I... don't think so. Not in school, anyways. I once failed an online hearing test when my left ear got super blocked up after a cold.

Which TV show are you most passionate about?

I mean I'd like to say Sherlock, but I'd be lying to myself. (Teen Wolf. The answer is Teen Wolf.)

Spring or autumn?

Autumn, probably. Because it tends to still be acceptably not-cold here, and also it means that winter is coming and I can hide inside with books and tea and blankets and my cat.

Stripes or polka dots?

Eh. Stripes, probably. I do have a fair amount of stripy clothing.

Have you ever broken someone’s heart?

Oh, yeah. I break all my characters' hearts, as often and in as many ways as possible. (Oh, you meant real people? Lol no. Nobody's ever given me their heart to break.)

Comedy or drama?

Depends on my mood. I'd say drama, since a lot of comedies give me the motts (and I really don't like the motts). But I like my dramas to have some comedy in them, ya know.
