lmao, some of the big name biphobes finally got tired of me pointing that stuff out and are now making a public affair of it. they’re very good at twisting people’s words around. so i guess this necessitates a response, even though they all have me (predictably) blocked.
1. assuming that authors are depicting mako as straight pre-apocalypse, then “going gay” post apocalypse IS biphobic. assuming those authors are cishet is also queerphobic, and i personally have hardly seen a straight roadrat fan anywhere. these people themselves will usually insist that the fandom is mostly queer trans people (until it becomes inconvenient, like now.)
2. i wrote that response because the same lineup of big name biphobes i mentioned reblogged that post, and they have just as much problem with me writing roadhog as a transfeminine nonbinary person with a wife as they do with mako having a wife, period. they’re the same people who push the idea that mako can ONLY be gay, or it’s homophobic. who insist that changing the word to ‘gay-baiting’ doesn’t erase the entire spectrum of BQPA identities. that post carried the same implications, to me, although i never said the post was wholly invalid. if there actually are straight writers out there doing that, they do need to put more thought into their depictions.
3. the line about “using trauma as a club” is directly referring to people using their abuse as a justification to harass other people and attempt to control their behavior.
4. yes, i was concerned about a minor having explicit sexual conversations with adults, having been in that exact same position, and having been groomed like that, through fandom things. that you’d try to turn that on me is fucking deplorable.
5. maybe, just maybe, you’re talking out of your ass.
in short: you’re scum. thanks for the traffic.
