Shellac seal of the entire piece in prep for the pour. Wire brushed all of the dirt and residual bark off of the live edge. First coat of finish on. Traditional boiled linseed oil and beeswax. I will put on probably 4-5 more coats and continuously buff and burnish as it dries. It will end with a nice, soft satin sheen. Very happy with how the base turned out after being burned #shousugiban . The texture of the base with the top’s figure I couldn’t be more happy with.
