#robot theory

So much of this is important information.

“You, of all people, would know their programming. I don’t think it would take much more than a light rainfall to revert them back to dispatching the living.”

This implies a few things

1. Mechanic actually helped design the robots in the FIRST PLACE. This isn’t much of a secret though so it just gives you solidification on his opinion and words about the bots.

2. A rainfall could revert their coding? That’s a whole new can of worms to open guys! That’s actually really interesting to me BECAUSE nobody flat out disproves it.

Which means that maybe if they know how to un-sentient robots if you will, they’ve done it before.

But that’s something I’m going to have to place on the drawing board for now because there’s something else that catches my interest if Gray is to be believed. The rainfall. Now as far as we know, none of the robots actually know the secret to their sentience. The reason seems to change everytime, doesn’t it?

Maybe there’s one consistency that we don’t know of, something that they’ve overlooked because it’s just an ordinary part of the Robot. So at first I thought that the sentience could’ve stemmed from some sort of less physical thing like a soul or a spirit or some spark of life and this could still very well be true! But I keep coming back to the rainfall comment. Rainfall. He doesn’t say it would completely destroy the robots. Just damage them. Or a PIECE of them. If there’s a piece that could get damaged by rainfall and instantly revert them back to their old coding then that means their sentience is a physical piece of them. Something that can be washed away by rainfall.

I think the best bet right now is a coding error. Most of the robots became sentient during times of action, or when something changed about their surroundings. Maybe this is a coding bug that’s visible easily, and so it gets fixed before the robots ever get the chance to leave the factory they were manufactured in. I think that the reason sentient robots are so very rare in the thousands out there, is because it’s a glitch that’s fixed if spotted. Something that needs to be able to hide long enough to grow. Something that’s jostled free if enough changes. I think that something in that bug lights up,

Medibots are indispensable compared to the other models. They probably cost almost double the other models with the technology needed with each one, their medigun and medi pack and stuff. We already notice that there are a lot less medibots on the field than other models, so it could be that they are being held in reserve in the factories for a later date when they are more needed in battles.

Although they are more targeted, a lot of medibots would have a lot of time on their hands in the factories, even if they are shut down during these periods. Their lifespan expectancies are much longer than any other bot not only because of their reserve but because of their übercharge, and the fact that they are ALWAYS protected by another stronger robot. They are not equip with weaponry often but that does not matter when you have a robot the size of a semi in front of one that it is using as a shield.

The life expectancy gives a medibot more time to experience situations, and gives it more time to actually become sentient. This is only one of the pieces that actually go INTO this theory, however.

Next we will take a look at their behaviors. We notice that robotic models tend to often take after the mercenary they are designed to match (until sentience, but even then it looks like it takes a little bit to wriggle out of the old behavior? A lot of the medibot blogs acted a lot more like medic when they first started out, but then they became something else entirely.)

The medic is a smart guy. One of the smartest if not THE smartest on the team, and he is no frail man. He is not your typical weak healer we often see in other medias, he is by definition a battle medic. He has survival instinct. This intelligence may partially transfer to the robotic counterparts. A Medibot’s experience is the most unique of any model, as they are not built for combat, and have earlier been mentioned to have been held in reserve in other locations like the factories. They experience the most types of situations, stimulating senses that may have not been there before. And the effect of the übercharge on a robot may have yet more secrets to uncover, as in a human it hyper-stimulates so to speak their HEART. Which AGAIN plays into that “sentience is held in a physical part of the robot” theory. For the übercharge to work a robot has to have a piece of hardware to allow the effect to take hold, a piece that otherwise would serve no further purpose.

Recently robotic medic, “Otto”, has replied to one of my posts wondering the same thing I’m sure all of us have.

What is up with all of these Otto shaped objects appearing? What’s the connection? Why Otto? Why these objects? And most importantly why is only one user posting them. Rubypet. They have been the only one that I have found that posts these strange images, and I found their blog by finding the source of our original dilemma, the “ottomatone”.

There are four objects that are of interest here. The ottomatone, the ottowatt, the unnamed edited image of Otto being parched (what?? 😬), and the ottonauts. The creation of these things started seemingly spontaneously, with no warning. And they continue to appear every so often without a warning. It seems rather out of character for the content normally posted on the blog.

But what if it’s not Rubypet posting the images?

What if it’s something far more sinister?

Allow me to explain. If you go down further into Rubypet’s blog, you’ll notice that they used to post sparse drawings of themselves, portrayed as human. This, just stopped. Out of nowhere. What if it’s no longer Rubypet behind the screen? Instead it’s something that has taken hold of them, or disposed of them entirely?

But what interest does this entity have in the Ottobjects? They’re ordinary images, and objects picked seemingly at random.

Or are they? All of the things chosen to become part of this Otto armada have a simple thing in common and that’s the puns they allow. Ottonauts derived from Octonauts. Ottomatone from Otamatone, and so on. Maybe this was all planned from the start, and is part of some sort of bigger ploy. Whether Otto himself is aware of this entire thing is up for debate, but I’d say it’s a long shot to say he does.

(I have no idea where I’m going with this somebody stop me)

The supposed Entity that now runs the Rubypet blog behind the scenes. I believe that it knows something we don’t. Something about these images. Some kind of effect they have, or what they really are. I’m going to cut this off now because I’m tired, have no idea how to connect this body paragraph to the new claim, and am claiming that someone got replaced by a creature.

, but also Hopeful Pyrobot seems to have something spooky going on there, and of course Proto, cannot forget him, a murderous bloodsucker (But there is also an air of innocence around him, although he does not seem to change personality when he is hungry. I wonder if he actually knows what he is doing? Obviously he knows but I wonder if he actually knows that killing is bad and what it actually does and whatnot?)

I wonder if Proto knows what death actually IS to a human, being almost immortal since he is a robot, I wonder what he would do if he ever found out. How much guilt would he have? Would it be enough to drive him to something he cannot come back from?

All of them save for a few seem to prefer themselves more human rather than robotic and I think it has something to do with the non-sentient robots.

Maybe they do not want to appear as their murderous counterparts, or are trying to distance themselves from the horror of the war. I think for many there may be a bit of trauma that plays into the role of not wanting to be associated with the others.

On the other hand, it might just be because they like humanity and how they are, and are trying to akin themselves more with the humans they know!

There are a few robots who don’t view themselves as humanlike at all, like Artificial Medibot— I think would actually be very OFFENDED if someone were to suggest the thought. I have so much to say on that part but that is for later, so putting that on the to-do list!
