Confessions and Encounters Pt.2
Part One Summary: Alastor visits Shaylon, hoping to get some information as to why he so suddenly broke up with Liam, trying to understand what changed. What went wrong, what made him decide something so suddenly. He was only now getting answers.
Part One
The room fell silent.
Deathly silent.
Shaylon stared at Alastor with his mouth agape, speechless. No, speechless was too easy. It was more like the words had been torn from him, and his voice was simply absent. He didn't know what to do, what to think, but those words kept going through his head.
I'm in love with you
Shaylon didn't know what to think.
But Alastor knew what he was thinking, and he was questioning why in the hell he thought this would be a good idea in the slightest.
He came here to get answers, not confess his undying love for his best friend. Were they even best friends anymore? He wasn't sure. But he knew one thing, and that was that he was in love with Shaylon.
What hurt was being near positive that the affection wouldn't be returned. Ever since they had been reunited Shaylon and Liam had been a pair. If Alastor ever saw Shaylon it was almost always with the elf.
They had become hard to separate.
Now they were, but Alastor knew that if he tried anything it would only be bad for him. Addie had always told him that was a terrible idea. "I tried it once." he said. "I ended up hurting a lot of people. Trust me, it's not worth it. Don't bother trying."
But here Alastor was, breaking part of that rule like it didn't even exist. He was here, telling Shaylon one of his deepest secrets without a second thought. Of course now regret was setting in, but before it wasn't even evident.
Now he realized how stupid he was being.
"I'll just go." he murmured, moving to walk past Shaylon. He had obviously taken this too far, and he only hoped it would pass. At least he got his message across, maybe Shaylon would shape up and go talk to Liam now. It was for the best after all, and his entire intention for going there in the first place.
But he didn't get very far. Barely past Shaylon to say the least. He felt a strong grip on his wrist, a nonverbal order for him to stop. He was curious, and turned to face the other, trying to learn what his intentions were. It's safe to say he learned quickly.
Their lips locked in an abrupt kiss, Alastor being left frozen in spot as his mind drew nothing but blanks. That was enough to draw him in closer at least, he leaned in and melted into the touch, never wanting their connection to end.
But it did anyway.
Shaylon broke away from him, pushing Alastor and turning to find some object he could distract himself with. That left his companion stunned, who simply stared at him in awe and confusion.
"S-shaylon, what does that mean?" he questioned, wanting an answer. Not the obvious answer, yes it was a kiss. But what was the purpose of it, what were the intentions? A kiss was just a kiss if you gave it no meaning.
"An idea." Shaylon responded. "Don't freak out over it, it doesn't guarantee anything. Just... just an idea." he repeated, almost like he was reassuring himself more than he was Alastor. "I'm heading out," he stated abruptly, dropping the conversation.
Shaylon strolled over to his desk, unbuttoning his jacket and slipping it off of his shoulders, exposing his bare chest.
He ignored any looks that Alastor sent him, pretending to be oblivious to the obvious stares and watchful glances, the pairs of eyes that scanned his backside for every detail. "You can stay here, I don't care. Just don't touch any of my documents, they're important... and confidential." he pulled a t-shirt over his head, flattening it against his chest before grabbing for his jacket.
"I don't know when I'll be back, but if you leave lock the place up. Spare key's under the flower pot by the door, don't let anyone in here that you don't know. I have a key, the only reason I'll be knocking is if I lose it and can't find the hidden one, which isn't likely." he threw on the coat, making his way towards the door. He briefly checked his holster, making sure his pistol was still concealed.
"If anyone comes in causing issues there's a gun under the desk and a bat in the closet." Shaylon commented, turning to meet Alastor's eyes. "Got it, don't worry, I'll keep this place in check." he reassured with a smile.
Shaylon simply nodded. He trusted Alastor to know what he was doing. "Thanks, I'll talk to you later, and..." he drew his attention elsewhere, beginning to open the door. "I'm sorry."
Then he was gone.
