   It's interesting, I think, how much opportunity we see the summer holding. The way I see it, the summer is a horribly lonely place, if you think about it.

  For me, at least, it holds no real opportunity to meet anyone. I'm trapped in a state of isolation in the sense that in the summer, anyone has the ability to pick who they hang out with. From June to August there are no lockers, assigned seating, group projects. You take who you know and you stick with them, because you can, because you want to.

   And I'm sure it's different for other people. Those are the sort people that always wind up on television; they're gorgeous without trying, go to all the right places, have all the right ideas about things, and know all the right people. Maybe they're born into it or maybe they're just "blessed."

    The fact of the matter is, I am not one of those people, nor have I ever been. And, as far as I'm concerned, nor will I ever be.

   I realize this is a long winded way of introducing myself, though to break in a journal (albeit, a required one) is a delicate process, one that should be handled with much care and superfluous detail.

   On the matter of introducing myself, my name is Robin Skye. Hello, I suppose.
