Roman Calendar - April 25, Robigalia An agricultural festival to appease goddess Robigo* and protect grain fields from disease such as wheat rust. Flamen Quirinalis led a procession to the fifth milestone of Via Claudia where wine, incence, blood and entrails of a red dog and a sheep were offered to the goddess. Games were also included - e.g. chariot races and a running contest from the milestone to Rome. * = gender is uncertain, some ancient sources, like Varro, claim that the festival was named for the god Robigus
